2010 ATV Pulling Rules
1. No engine, suspension or gearing modifications in
stock class allowed. Air filter upgrades are not considered modified.
2. Tires must have ½ inch gap between
the tread bars in the middle of the tire. Stock ATV tires only in stock classes.
3. No axle extensions or wider
offset rims.
4. No changing weight to ATV when repulling for a full pull- exception is if there is another driver,
weights must be brought up to scale and changed there.
5. Maximum tire size is 26 x 13 inches. (Unless originally
equipped with larger size)
6. No ATV will exceed overall dimensions of 60 inches wide or 96 inches long. This will
be measured at the longest and widest points, including tires, rims, racks, weights, etc. Open class/1600lbs, 2000lbs- 72”
wide, unlimited length.
7. Machine must have a hitch that extends no farther rearward than 6 inches from the center
of rear axle.
8. Each weight class will include the weight of the machine plus the weight of the driver. You
must have your own weights & clevice. GBRR's do have clevice's for rent or sale.
9. All ATV’s
must be operated in a safe manner on and off the track. No speeding or wheelies allowed. Any incidences may cause driver to
get black flagged for the day.
10. ATV must have working brakes, fenders over the 2 rear tires, and a spring
return throttle (lever or twist).
11. All drivers must be at least 18 years of age or have a copy of the ATV
Safety Training certificate with, & signature of parent or guardian at time of registration.
12. All drivers
must wear shirt, shoes, and a helmet during the pull.
13. The first puller in each class is the “Test Puller”.
He/she has the option to re-pull in third or last spot. Decision to re-pull must be made before ATV leaves the track.
Judge can require repull if sled needs more weight.
14. If the ATV goes out of bounds during the pull, you are disqualified.
15. The puller will be given 2 consecutive attempts to start the sled, if a person stops before the 35 foot mark, he
has the option to repull.
16. All pulls will start with a tight hitch. No jerking is allowed.
17. All
weights to be fastened securely to the machine with ratchet strap binders. The loss of any object while hooked to the
sled will be a disqualification.
18. The standard outdoor track shall be 200 feet long and 25 feet wide.
19. No
weights can extend more than 6 inches in front of and/or rear of the tires, wheelie bar excluded.
20. Pump
gas is permitted for use as the only fuel in the stock classes. Nitrous oxide or pressurized fuels are allowed in modified/
open classes.
21. Each participant has one pull per class, per ATV, except in a tie or pull off.
22. Driver
must remain seated on the seat, & both hands on handlebars during the pull. No weaving back & forth while pulling
the skid. If judge believes it’s unsafe, driver can be disqualified.
23. The judges will settle any discrepancies
in the rules and their decisions are final and must be accepted in a sportsman-like manner.
24. All drivers must
be registered at gate.
25. There must be 2 entries to have a class and qualify for points.
26. You
will not be allowed to hook up 2 ATV’s and pull!
27. If you don’t stop at full pull when red flag
is thrown, you’ll be black flagged. If you get 2 black flags in one pull, you are out for the season!
